Heading to Glastonbury this year? You might want to look out for the Welsh bands and artists who will be taking to the stage.

Glastonbury 2024 features a long line-up of Welsh acts who will be performing across its various stages.

“The Welsh artists playing at Glastonbury, from the smallest stage to the Pyramid Stage, are going to remember this weekend forever,” BBC Radio 6 Music presenter Huw Stephens said.

“There is an abundance of Welsh talent at the moment in music, and I think it’s reflected in the Glastonbury line-up this year.”

So what are all the Welsh bands and artists at Glastonbury 2024, and when can you watch them?

Charlotte Church

Singer Charlotte Church is set to appear at Glastonbury on Friday, between 15:00 BST – 16:00, on the Left Field stage.

She'll be joining Bow Anderson and Billy Bragg as part of his Radical Round Up.

Skindred

Newport alt metal band Skindred will also be at Glastonbury on Friday, performing the 23:05 – 00:20 slot on the Avalon Stage.

The Royston Club

Wrexham indie band The Royston Club are performing a number of slots across the Glastonbury weekend, including:

  • Thursday, 16:20 – 17:20, Bread and Roses
  • Friday, 19:00 – 19:40, Strummerville
  • Saturday, 15:45 – 16:45, Bread and Roses

“The Royston Club from Wrexham have three gigs at Glastonbury this year,” said Stephens.

“It’s a huge deal to be playing what’s regarded as the world’s best festival.”

Cara Hammond

Another Wrexham artist, Cara Hammond will be performing on Saturday between 12:00 – 12:40 on the Bread and Roses stage.

“For artists like Cara Hammond from Wrexham, who just did a fantastic Horizons session... it’s a great opportunity,” said Stephens.

Trampolene

Swansea indie band Trampolene are at Glastonbury on Friday, from 16:30 – 17:05 at the Left Field stage.

“It’s going to be a great experience for them to play. They will remember this year forever," said Stephens.

Jack Jones

Trampolene frontman Jack Jones will also be joining Billy Bragg's Radical Round Up on Sunday, from 15:00 – 16:00, also on the Left Field stage.

Bethan Lloyd

Welsh vocalist Bethan Lloyd will also be making a triple appearance at Glastonbury this year, starting with a performance on Friday with Nigel Shaw from 20:00 - 20:45 on the Croissant Neuf Bandstand.

They're also appearing together on Sunday from 11:00 – 11:45, once again at the Croissant Neuf Bandstand.

Bethan will make a solo appearance on Sunday, from 18:15 – 19:05 on the Toad Hall stage.

N’Famady Kouyaté

A musician from Guinea, now based in Cardiff, N'Famady Kouyaté will be performing on the Friday from 00:00 – 1:00 at The Hive as well as on Saturday between 12:30 – 13:30 at the Glade stage.

Welsh DJs at Glastonbury

If throwing shapes to a DJ set is more your thing, you’ll find plenty of Welsh artists leading the Glastonbury crowds this weekend.

“There’s some incredible Welsh DJs playing like Kelly Lee Owens and Elkka," said Stephens. “There’s a really varied mix of Welsh artists at Glastonbury this year.”

These include:

  • Cut Capers: Saturday, 14:15 – 15:10, Avalon Stage
  • Elkka (and Joe Goddard): Saturday, 14:00 – 15:30, Stonebridge Bar
  • Jamie Jones: Saturday, 22:30 – 00:00, Levels
  • Jonesy Wales: Sunday (with Atki2 and Dub Boy), 17:00 – 19:00, Babylon Uprising
  • Kaptin: Saturday, 1:00 – 1:30, Peace Stage
  • Kelly Lee Owens: Friday, 23:00 – 00:30, Levels
  • Mike Dennis: Wednesday, 16:00 – 17:00, and Friday, 18:30 – 19:30, at the Croissant Neuf Bandstand
  • Mistafire: Friday, 13:45 – 14:30, Blind Tiger
  • Natty Lou: Thursday, 19:15 – 20:15, Glade Dome, as well as Friday, 15:15 – 16:30, Blind Tiger, and Friday, 20:00 – 21:00, Cornish Arms.

Other Welsh artists set to perform

Bau Cat: Sunday, 21:00 – 22:00, Toad Hall

Elkka: Sunday, 16:45 – 17:45, Lonely Hearts Club

Fizz: Friday, 20:30 – 21:00, BBC Music Introducing

Gillie: Sunday, 16:15 – 17:00, Toad Hall

K Klass: Friday, 18:35 – 19:35, Glade

“Glastonbury is so enormous,” added Stephens. “It’s so vast, and there are so many artists playing – everybody brings something different to the table. This year’s Welsh acts add a really interesting mix to the Glastonbury line-up.”
