The Necromancer is a fan-favorite class in all of the Diablo franchise. If you're a necromancer, you're most likely not fighting alone and always have an army of skeletons behind you. In addition to that, its themes and skills just perfectly fit the already chaotic and demon-infested world of Diablo.
In Diablo: Immortal, the Necromancer still has its class-defining skills like Summon Skeleton and Corpse Explosion making it the same old class that everyone knows and loves. This class is great for people who want to use a class that commands pets, but skeletons.

Necromancer Overview
Necromancers are sorcerers that excel in dark magics. They have the power over death, so if you think the fight is over against a necromancer when you die, you're in for a treat. They command armies of skeleton warriors, skeleton mages, and even grim reapers.
Not only that, but they can use the dead bodies of their enemies as a weapon by making them explode using corpse explosion. While using other spells to put a curse on their opponents or protect themselves and their teammates.
Chain Reaction Build, Legendary Equipment, and Gems
The main actor of this skill build is Corpse Explosion with the Grim Scythe coming in as the assisting actor. The full skill build would look a little like this:
- Grim Scythe
- Corpse Explosion
- Command Skeleton
- Corpse Lance / Wraith Form
In this skill build, Corpse Lance is a flexible skill which means that you can exchange that out for another skill that you like. If you want to survive for even longer, we highly recommend taking Wraith Form as this allows you to be invincible for a short amount of time as well as the skill being a great mobility option.
Chain Reaction Build Legendary Equipment
Since your bread and butter for this skill build will revolve around getting corpses and making them explode, you want Clotburst to be there as it increases your Corpse Explosion damage as well as They Rest Everywhere to increase the range of Corpse Explosion.
Equipment Slot | Name | Effect |
---|---|---|
Head | Coals For Eyes | Command Skeletons now causes your skeletal champions to explode at their destination, damaging all nearby enemies. |
Chest | They Rest Everywhere | Corpse Explosion radius increased |
Arms | Lone Preserver | Corpse Explosion now inflicts chill which can stack and freeze opponents. |
Legs | Any (Depending on Flexible Skill) | - |
Main Hand | Clotburst | Corpse Explosion damage increased. |
Off Hand | The Prong | Reduces cooldown on summoning skeletal champions |
Other Suggestions | ||
Legs | Proximal Fear | Wraith Form now causes enemies you touch to flee in Fear and damages them. |
Legs | Rozhin's Keening | Corpse Lance damage is increased |

Chain Reaction Build Legendary Gems
What makes this build shine is that even with just the lower star gems, it works perfectly which makes the 5-star legendary gems an afterthought. You want to get Chained Death and Fervent Fang as one of your first gems.
Legendary Gem | Effect |
---|---|
Zwenson's Haunting | When you defeat an enemy, summon a dark beast to attack nearby enemies, dealing damage to all nearby enemies. This passive has a cooldown. Gain a chance to summon a dark dragon after using a skill against an enemy that causes loss of control at later ranks. |
Seeping Bile | Your attacks can now poison enemies. This poison spreads to nearby enemies if the victim dies. Cannot affect the same target more often than once in a set amount of time. |
Fervent Fang | Each time you deal damage to an enemy, that enemy now takes additional damage from your attacks. This passive has a cap. All damage you deal to Elite monsters is increased at later ranks. |
Pain of Subjugation | You deal increased damage to enemies suffering loss of control. Decreases all damage you take while suffering loss of control of your character at later ranks. |
Chained Death | Increases the damage you deal per target hit. This passive has a maximum cap. |
The General Skill Build, Legendary Equipment, and Gems
This is the build most people just default to as the Necromancer is more popularly seen as the pet class of Diablo. This means that they want to be able to have a lot of their minions out and about while they stay on the sidelines and watch them wreak havoc.
- Command Skeleton
- Skeletal Mage
- Command Golem
- Bone Armor/Wraith Form
For this skill build, Bone Armor is a flexible skill that you can swap for anything you want. We highly suggest Wraith Form because of the additional survivability and mobility it provides.
The General Build Legendary Equipment
You mostly want to get all the pieces here that modify your summons and make them much more powerful. What's good about this skill build is that even without most of the legendary equipment here, the build can function normally.
Equipment Slot | Name | Effect |
---|---|---|
Head | Mirrorictus | Your skeletal champions are replaced with skeletal archers |
Chest | Any | - |
Arms | Ziroco | Skeletal Mage damage increased |
Legs | Proximal Fear | Wraith Form now causes enemies you touch to flee in Fear and damages them. |
Main Hand | Desolatoria | Command Golem becomes Molten Golem that burns nearby enemies |
Off Hand | Welcome End | Skeleton Mage summons a Grim Reaper but has a longer cooldown |

The General Build Gems
When playing the general the priority gem would be the Follower's Burden because you'll mostly have a lot of summons out and this can benefit you.
Legendary Gem | Effect |
---|---|
Echoing Shade | Your attacks have a chance to summon a shadow clown that gains you some abilities. |
Blood-Soaked Jade | Increases the damage you deal and your movement speed. The bonus damage this passive provides lessens as your HP goes down. At later ranks, you take decreased damage while below a certain percentage of health. |
Follower's Burden | Increases all damage you deal for each summon you control, this passive has a cap. |
Bloody Reach | Increases the damage you deal based on how far you are from the enemy. Has the chance to decrease enemy attack and movement speeds at later ranks. |
Freedom and Devotion | Increases the duration of your summons |
Berserker's Eye | Increases the damage you deal but also increases the damage you take. Also increases your critical hit chance at later ranks. |
Necromancer Paragon Tree Tips
Paragons are only unlocked after reaching the maximum level, 60. Each paragon tree has a set of permanent attribute bonuses and specialization skills. Specialization Skills only activate when the tree it's in is also activated. This means that you can only have one set of specialization skills active at once. However, attribute bonuses from trees add up so you can get additional attribute bonuses from other trees.
Again, just like the other classes, you're going to choose either Vanquisher or Survivor during the early levels of Paragon Levels. We recommend going for the Vanquisher to be more efficient in clearing mobs and doing dungeon content while having some bonus survival attributes of the other paragon trees such as Life and Armor. Soldier is also another great tree for the Necromancer as they usually stay behind and are near the back row damage dealers. Gladiator is there for a more PvP-oriented playstyle.
Since you have the ability to reset your paragon levels weekly, we highly encourage players to try out different paragon tree builds to see what suits your playstyle.
