I started using MathHelp because I was going to take a placement test to go back to College. The test went really well. My score on Quantitative Reasoning, Algebra, and Statistics was 274 which is very good for the Next-Gen Accuplacer test. The lady at the College said it was the best score she had seen in a while. I have nothing but to thank MathHelp for the review and the very well structured and easy to follow classes, it really helped me. I'm starting College Algebra this upcoming Spring Semester and will definitely come back to MathHelp in case I need some outside help.

My Math TSIA2 went great! I completed and passed the first 20 questions and didn’t have to finish the rest. 👍🏼 I think the lessons were great, coming from someone who hasn’t studied this material in 20 years. It was very thorough and you did a great job! Thanks again!

My TSIA2 test went great. I passed the test my first try and math is not my strongest subject so this course helped a lot. Thank you!

The TSI went great, passed all three sections the first round. This program really made a difference.

I did well on the TSIA2 and am thankful for your course. I found the instruction and pace to be very helpful. The amount of practice questions provided for each topic was perfect and I liked how I could pause the quizzes to review the material a little more if I felt unsure. I’m very happy to have found MathHelp and will sing its praises from here on out. Thank you so much for the help you provided!

Thank you SO MUCH! I PASSED THE TSI WITH FLYING COLORS and I wouldn't have walked in there with the confidence had it not been for your awesome program! I really feel like how you explained it made it click for me. I was able to comprehend the material and feel like that is due in large to the direct, repetitive nature of the course. It's organized very well. The fact that there's audio for every practice problem is VERY helpful. It's one thing to have a video teaching a concept, but to have you explaining the work and reinforcing the concepts as I'm practicing on my own really helped more than just having the answer given without explanation.

The TSIA2 course I took was a tremendous help. I went into the course knowing very little about math other than middle school level basics. I took math when I was in high school but I never understood what was going on and I had just barley scrapped by. This course is the first thing I've ever been able to understand on the topic of math. I feel confident to go to college now that I have a clue on what's going on. Thank you so much.

That course was the absolute reason in my success of the TSIA2 test. I did pass it and can take College level algebra instead of developmental math. Specifically speaking, the quadratic equations, functions/graphing, linear equations in two variables and expressions, equations and formulas really helped. So I'd most definitely give that course a lot of credit to helping me pass.

How do I prepare for the TSI exam?

1. Take a Gradual Approach

Start with an introduction to the concepts through whiteboard videos. Next, use a step-by-step guide for TSI math practice sessions featuring detailed explanations to tackle various TSI math questions. Finally, test yourself on what you've learned. This gradual approach to every topic makes for successful TSI math prep.

2.Be Thorough but Efficient

The best TSI math test prep is both thorough and efficient. Your time is valuable, so explanations must be straightforward and clear, without any fluff. And if a concept isn't covered on the TSI test, it better not be included in your studies. Use diagnostic pre-tests to tell you what you already know and what you don't so that your TSI prep focuses on the lessons that will have the most impact on your exam results.

3. Build Your Base

Of course, not every student will be able to fly through the TSI course. If you've been out of school for some time, or if you’ve always struggled with math and have no clue how to pass the TSI math test, you may need to go back to the basics. For students who require extensive help, quick links to foundational lessons that focus on core concepts are key. If you need to review your knowledge base before moving on to more advanced topics, this TSI math practice test feature can be a lifesaver!

What is on the TSI?

The TSI test, or Texas Success Initiative Assessment, is designed to match incoming college students with appropriate college courses. The TSI exam has two sections: Math and ELAR (English Language Arts and Reading). To prepare effectively, consider using an online course for TSI math practice.

Do you need to study for the TSI?

Yes, you need to study for the TSI, and the good news is that you can. One way is to try sample questions. Another is to take a TSI test prep course that provides thorough instruction. The instructional approach is particularly effective when studying for the math section of the exam.

What score do you need to pass the TSI?

The passing score for the Math TSI is either 950 or an ABE diagnostic level of 6. The scoring for the ELAR component is more complicated. Passing the ELAR portion requires a placement score of 945 and an essay score of 5. If your score is under 945, you must have an essay score of 5 combined with an ABE diagnostic level of 5. It's important to note that the TSI Assessment is not a pass/fail test. The “passing score” is the benchmark score that determines college readiness.

What math is on the TSI?

The TSI math test covers essential topics from algebra, geometry, and data analysis, which are core skills necessary for success on the exam. Additional topics include probability and statistics, ensuring a comprehensive assessment of your math abilities. Mastery of these areas is crucial to achieving a good score which means they should be emphasized in TSI math practice sessions.

Is the TSI math test hard?

The TSI math can be hard because it’s a computer-adaptive test. In other words, if you answer a question correctly, the next question will be more difficult. Therefore, even an excellent math student will find the test demanding. The good news is that the harder the questions become, the higher the possible score.

How many questions are on the TSI math test?

The TSI math test has 20 multiple-choice questions. However, if you don't meet the college readiness score of 950, you will have to take the Math Diagnostic. This part of the test contains 48 questions, 12 from each of the 4 content categories that comprise the overall test.

  1. Quantitative Reasoning
  2. Algebraic Reasoning
  3. Geometric and Spatial Reasoning
  4. Probabilistic and Statistical Reasoning

To thoroughly prepare, focus on data analysis, which will enhance your ability to interpret and manipulate numerical data effectively. Algebra and geometry are also vital to master, as they are integral to many of the questions you'll encounter on the test. Use the TSI math practice to solidify these skills and increase your confidence in handling various mathematical problems.

How do I study for the TSI Math?

  1. Pre-Tests.Start each section with a short pre-test to determine if you already know the material.
  2. Instruction and Guided Practice.Video and audio explanations are core to your TSI math test prep.
